What makes a Great Dental Practice?
Do you have a view on what makes a great dental practice? I do, and I am sure you do, too. Is it the clinician, the team, the environment, the communication skills, the equipment, the quality of dentistry, the team personality???
I am asking you to share your views and thoughts at Samera Connect* to answer this question on the forum.
My aim is to get all you readers collaborating with your views and ideas. After a period of time, I will then pull together your views and comments to form a mini report on what you all think makes a great dental practice. This will be shared to everyone free of charge, which I am certain will be of use to everyone who reads it. So don't hesitate, share your views!
The more you give the better it will be!
Please share your view at www.sameraconnect.com
Marketing mistakes I have made...
My experience of setting up and running 2 professional service businesses (dentists and accountants) in the last 5 years from scratch have taught me how to market businesses successfully, however, over the years I have made all the classic mistakes of marketing including:
- Continuing to market a service where there was little interest
- Doing the design work myself and not using a good graphic designer
- Not putting myself in the shoes of the customer
- Mis-communication in the team about key offers
- Putting adverts in newspapers and magazines and expecting the phone to start ringing immediately
- Paying for banner adverts
- Over paying for Google adwords
- Offering too many freebies
- Being a bit out there!
In fact, there probably isn’t anything I have not tried over the years.
I have learnt marketing the tried and tested manner. I know what works, but more importantly what doesn’t in today’s Google world.
I have become so involved in the concept of marketing, I would in fact call it a passion of mine. I have read most recent books on marketing and entrepreneurship, attended cutting edge courses in the UK and abroad, and know with confidence what will work, but also won’t work.
So what is the key to marketing success?
In my opinion, i believe the key to a successful marketing campaign is a combination of creativity and analysis . In today's world we have to stand out, create Purple Cow's in a crowded world (if you don't know what a Purple Cow is check out www.sethgodin.com) , but at the same time, monitor religiously how effective the marketing campaign has been. If you don't know what has been effective then you will never know where to invest your marketing £'s.
You have to be willing to experiment and fail , but then learn from the outcome. If you aren't williing to experiment then perhaps running a business is not for you?
I eat, live and breathe marketing in the new age (perhaps like some of you do for dentistry!)
If you want to learn more, check out my webinar at 8pm, on Monday 16th February, I can promise my sheer passion for helping you to market your business successfully.
As ever, have a great week ahead!
