A Very Special Day ...

Today is a very special day at Samera for 2 very HUGE reasons. Firstly I am very proud to announce that today is our 7th birthday (can you believe i have been writing these newsletters 7 years??) AND secondly and perhaps more importantly i am extremely proud to be launching our Christmas 2009 "Give a Little Love" Campaign! (Yes, you will see me lots making a fool out of myself to help many disadvantaged kids this Christmas!).

Give a Little Love 2009

Give a Little Love 2009 officially launches today. Last Christmas we managed to deliver over 150 gifts to sick and disadvantaged gifts across London. This year our target is much bigger and more audacious - 1000 gifts across the UK! That's why we are starting earlier this year, and need your help! To kick this off Santa has made a comeback video....watch this below (make sure the volume is turned up!) and don't laugh too loudly!

Santa needs your help to help him get and deliver at least 1000 gifts to sick and disadvantaged kids across the UK this Christmas. For your help, Santa has promised to entertain you with his regular video updates. Santa has secretly told me that the more gifts he receives, the wackier the videos will be!

You can find out how to get involved at www.givealittlelove.org.uk, we would love to see you there helping us put a smile on sick and disadvantaged kids this Christmas!.

My 7 Years In Dentistry....

In the last 7 years i have learnt so much. I entered the world of dentistry not knowing much but now have a wealth of knowledge that i can impart to others. I have learnt about people, business, some dentistry but most importantly I have learnt mostly about myself. Yes, I know it sounds corny, but setting up a business from scratch when many people dismissed my ideas has enabled me to be the person i want to be. I have learnt about my strengths, such as persistence, but also about my weaknesses such as impatience, but by learning more about myself has allowed me to enjoy the journey of the last 7 years. Has it been tough? Absolutely, but i live by the phrase, if it was easy, then everyone would be doing it!

I have met many wonderful people, clients, team members and others working in dentistry. I have enjoyed my last 7 years immensely and look forward to the next 7 years as we expand further. The business of dentistry is only now beginning to gain momentum, and personally feel the team at Samera have a lot more to share and help dentists with.

I have to say thanks to the team behind Samera as without these dedicated people the business would not be where it is today. So a massive thanks to the current team, Barbara, Kemi, Hiren, Vaneeta, , Gavin, Dumindu, Sylvie and of course Mahen. Without the efforts of all of these wonderful people Samera would not be where it is today. A special mention has to be made about two people in the team, Mahen and Sylvie. Mahen joined me in the early days at my dad's dining table to kick start the business and this incredible guy is still with us. Thank you all for your rock solid support and advice all the way. Sylvie our resident Practice Management expert has been through the mills with Samera, her energy and dynamism is infectious, and she also knows a little about managing practices too! Thanks Sylvie and Happy Birthday to you too (Sylvie is 21 today!)

Finally, a special thanks has to go to Smita (my wife) for her constant encouragement and rock solid support. When the chips were down, she has always been there to support me in every way! Thanks Smita.

Have a fantastic weekend!
